Beijing Post, the leading postal service provider in China, has announced that it has recently signed a deal with PayPal Inc, the largest online payment platform in the world, on creating an international logistics solution known as PayPal Package to facilitate cross-border e-commerce, reports Xinhua.
Henceforth, 80 per cent of cross-border shipments are expected to arrive at the destination airport within two days and 90 per cent of overseas buyers will receive their goods in eight to nine days.
For a long time, speed of delivery is a major concern for online shopping overseas buyers and is vital to any seller that wants to have a competitive edge.
PayPal Package allows merchants to track order delivery online, which means it enables merchants to be covered by its seller protection policy. Also, merchants can benefit from an international delivery service for small parcels, which guarantees that these items will be boarding a plane for delivery on the day of order.
Beijing Post estimates show that under normal conditions transporting parcels from China to the US and Europe takes 10 to 20 days, while with this customised service, the delivery time could be reduced to 10 days or so, even in peak season.
