It’s been 10 years since we have officially implemented global barcode system into the domestic market and established GS1 Mongolia. In May 28, 2014 we have celebrated 10th Anniversary of the GS1 Mongolia with its members and specially invited guests.
In the scope of the 40th Anniversary of GS1 NGO, GS1 Mongolia has won 3rd place in the Marketing Competition which was announced among 116 member countries of GS1.
Implemented “Code bar 25 standards” barcodes successfully to the National Center for Communicable Disease of Mongolia. Currently, these barcodes are used in the laboratory researches to determine tuberculosis immunological level among population of Mongolia, as well as on samples and registration, logbook, bags of samples and specimens, analysis feedback lists etc.
Published 2nd edition of “What is GS1?” handbook.
Published jointly with project team of the “Zorig Foundation” handbook named “Smart Choice” for retailers and shop sellers.
Published first edition of “Foreign trade clearing handbook”.
Organized “WE LOVE LOGISTICS” event jointly with the Mongolian Logistics Association and School of Business Administration and Humanities of Mongolian University of Science and Technology. During the event we have organized following competitions:
- Project competition among students of various universities and institutes on “PR Plan to promote Logistics”;
- Event on “Promoting specialty in Logistics”;
- Scientific research article on “Logistics issues in the supply chain”;
- Press release etc.
In the scope of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, we have organized joint workshop on “Logistics and Freight Forwarding” in cooperation with China International Freight Forwarding Association /CIFA/ and Nankai University in Tianjin city, PRC. Workshop was supported by ADB and covered more than 20 attendees from 10 road carriers and freight forwarding companies from Mongolia. At the end of the workshop joint certificate of attendance of CAREC Federation of Carrier and Forwarder Associations /CFCFA/ and Nankai University were granted to all participants.
Since 2009, Trade and Transport Facilitation Council at the MNCCI has been working as a founding member of CAREC/CFCFA and has been elected to the Executive board. The CAREC/CFCFA was officially registered in Hong Kong to function as a government agency to implement its activities at a regional level.
According to CAREC 4B corridor, we have conducted joint survey with ADB using time/cost/distance methodology adopted by the UNESCAP.
Organized seminar on “Trade Facilitation Agreement Implementation of the World Trade Organization” in cooperation with International Trade Centre /ITC/ and Ministry of Economic Development of Mongolia. During the seminar more than 50 attendees from government organizations, NGOs and companies have assessed the articles and provisions of the agreement.
Organized training in cooperation with UNESCAP on Single Electronic Window to facilitate foreign trade with more than 50 attendees of 20 different foreign trade stakeholders from government agencies and ministries as well as private sector.
In the framework of the cross border trade information exchange, development of paperless trade on borders and foreign trade facilitation SEW system we have conducted survey jointly with UNSECAP on “ICT gap – Readiness for the trade and transport facilitation system”.
